I think my friend Kyla is the only person that actually blogs on her blog still. It is so easy to overlook my blog with Facebook in my world. The immediacy of what's new NOW is the norm these days. It's so easy to log on and post a one word description of my day or a quick blurb about our life that sitting to write a thought process on a blog seems way too lengthy. Add to that the guilt of feeling a need to catch everyone up on the goings on is always there. The reality is that most everyone that reads my blog is already a friend on Facebook.
Anyway, I'm on here and posting that we love Kentucky and are mostly settled. It's the details that are hanging over me now. Pictures to hang, curtains, paint, end tables and such that need to be finalized. I am at a point now that I am just going to do it and move it if I don't like it. I am happy, the boys are happy, Bill loves his job. We are blessed and God is good.

To Post and Where to Post....that is the question.

Just checking in
It's Christmas in Germany. I love love Christmas here. The Christmas markets, snow, smell of fireplaces and the sounds of the bells on the churches ringing on Sunday mornings. This is our last Christmas here. We are all missing Sadie this year. It's hard to get motivated to go for walks in the forests with out her. We have been looking at breeders again and are excited to bring a new dog to our family when we get back. I could sooo do that now, but I just won't put that stress on a dog.

Wow, has it been THAT long
It's the end of July 2010 and I just logged on here and saw it's been FOREVER since I wrote on our blog. So there is too much to try to condense in a short note so I'll go with the here and now.
Life is basically normal for us. The kids are growing and the change in maturity, especially Michael, these days is nothing if not entertaining. Our good friends the Cangelosi's just moved here and Madi, 5, is and has been a favorite of the boys since we met her in Leavenworth. Michael has taken it on himself to entertain her for hours. It's been so helpful and pretty interesting to see. He talks with her and plays games with her and takes her to the park and makes up games that have kept her patient and entertained for us while trying to get bank accounts set up, housing appointments, finding a place to live ect. He's been so great! NOW if we could just get him to be like that with Matt we would have it made. Matt is still the comic relief in our house. His brain is HUGE and I am honestly shocked at how many things he remembers and little details of mundane things that go unnoticed by us, but not only noticed, but thoroughly examined by him. He loves life and I love watching him. Bill is the Secretary General's Staff here are 21st. He works directly for the General and likes the job. He enjoys pretty normal hours and the added benefit of a "non deployable" status. That's great for our family, but we are pretty certain that where ever we go next will be his turn in the chute again. We've been so blessed to have him home for so long. I am still staying at home, but seriously thinking about being a substitute teacher here next year. It's nice to be so close to the school and to have an opportunity to hang be near them and still have some extra income to do some more traveling in our last year. We are heading home next summer. Our time here has been pretty great and we have had some incredible experiences, but we are all homesick and ready to see our families and a TARGET! =)
So, that's the latest for us. Hopefully I can be better at updating on here. I am on face-book so much these days that I don't often think about writing more. Hope all is well with you.

Time Out
I'm sitting here waiting for cookies to cool, taking a time out. Enya's O Come Emmanuel on, tree lit and a wonderful fine snow falling outside. I feel really blessed today. What a wonderful gift my life has been.
Sadie is playing keep away with her rope with my friends dog outside. It's really cute.
The stress of getting boxes out is gone. Christmas cards are now going to be New Year letters. That gives me time to get some pictures on a letter and get it mailed out. God is good!
Merry Christmas
